CPU fan doesn't spin up when computer's turned on

Like the title says, my cpu fan doesn't spin up when i turn the power on. I made a thread the other day about the same problem with the stock fan so i went out yesterday and bought the xp120 and a 120mm coolermaster fan and the problem still exists. It only spins when i push the fan blade and/or turn it myself. :confused: Does anyone know what could be the problem and how i could solve this?

I had this same "problem" for a while. Turns out that it's not spinning because your CPU is cool enough not to need the extra airflow. :p You can usually change the temperature threshold in your BIOS.
 
What are your specs? Do you have Cool-n-Quiet enabled? Have you tried another fan connection to see if it works? What are your temps?
 
Specs are:
3000+ venice @2.2
DFI LP Ultra-D
7800gt
ocz platinum rev2

I have CnQ disabled and i've also switched to another fan header but it's still the same. Temps at idle are 25-27C

Mine does the same thing, and I too believe that it is because the cpu is not warm enough. About a 30 seconds or around that the fan eventually will begin to turn on, and I do have cool and quiet on.
 
Haha, yea I was really scared like a month ago when mine didn't kick on either.

I also have an Ultra-D. I guess its just a stock setting.
 
When you play a game or perform a CPU intensive task, does the fan increase in speed? What are your temperatures at load?

YeAH mine would just sit there and kinda like "pulse" the fan would look like it was twitching. lol! I dont know what is up with that but yeah.

Mr. Miyagi, Im can't really hear the fan speed up when playing a game for hours on end or anything CPU intensive, so pretty much mine is quiet all around even at full loads. my temperatures at load are around 40c +/- 5-10 degrees. (depends on how hot my room and how long I have been playing).

That happened to my stock fan almost everytime but not for my coolermaster since i got it (2 days ago). Sometimes the fan spins when i power it on but then stop half way loading to windows, the led would even light up. My load temps are around 37C
 
If you got an ultra-d just fire up smartguardian from the CD that came with it, go into options, find the cpu fan, software programable mode, and try changing speeds there in windows.
