CPU Core?

cpu core is the center of the cpu that does all the algorithms and all the work, diffenrt cores are sometime worse or better at somethings....like for examlpe overclocking, some cores can overclock like hell to around a 100% oc on the right cooling, another advantage is video editing, cores with extra L2 cache are great for those purposes.
 
mmm, so the core is the actual chip inside the CPU, excluding the other electronics inside the CPU then?
 
The core is essentailly the chip itself, minus the pins/board.
