CPU cooling for i5 750

Hi all, I'm a complete noob when it comes to water cooling. I have an i5 750 and it's very quiet on the default setting. When I use turbo boost to max (3.8 ghz), the temp goes above 80c and fan gets loud.

So I'd like to get water cooling, but just for the CPU. All my other parts are pretty cool so don't need anything for those. I don't know where to start - what parts do I need to just water cool my cpu so I can crank it up to 3.8 ghz with the built in turbo boost? If anyone can suggest something easy to install, quiet, and cost effective that'd be great. Thanks!

Just buy a better air cooler... should be able to keep the temps under control.

i didnt want an air cooler because they are so large and bulky. i got the Corsair h50 for my cpu. (look it up on newegg).

it does its job well for my purposes.
here are my settings:
Baseclock=166
multiplier= x21
clock = 3.5GHz

ram multiplier= x8
Clock= 1333

Voltage:
vcore : 1.181
VVT: 1.15

everything else off

Idle temps: 30-33
Full load temps (prime 95 for 30 min): 50C
Full Load Temps (Linx with 20 passes) 55C

depending on the fan setup, its very quiet. don't even notice the pump after the first install

I don't know the first thing about water cooling. Do I need to buy anything else? Or does that come with everything I need including thermal paste? Also, how loud is it on full load?

Its a complete, closed-loop system.

Honestly, though, water-cooling for your needs might be overkill. A decent air cooler will do wonders.

Water cooling is probably way more than you need though. You could get a good air cooling setup for around $50 bucks.
Take a look at http://www.svc.com/truespirit.html and the bolt through kit to make it work with your 1156 motherboard http://www.svc.com/btk-1156-revb.html

However, if you don't want a massive heatsink in your case, just go with the Corsair h50 like the others said. You would only have to buy the one part, install it and you would be set.

Well my main concern is noise. I think heatsink fans are always going to be louder than water cooling? It seems that the h50 is comparable in price compared to a top of the line fan. So if it's smaller and quieter, then why not?

its really quiet depending on your fan. i like it a lot and it comes with pre applied thermal paste. perfect for my needs. also there is the 2 year warranty where corsair will replace everything that is damaged if it leaks. (only 1 reported case ive heard of)

My current stock heatsink/fan is completely silent when the PC is on low load (surfing web, word processing, etc). I mean completely silent - if you walked in the room you wouldn't know there was a computer on. I don't even need any chassis fans (temps stay at about 32c). It's just when I overclock it, or start playing games that it starts making some noise. And it can't keep it cool enough during overclocking.

But is the h50 completely silent when pc is on low load or idle? That's really important to me coz I hate having a constant noise when I'm just doing work.
