hey guys,
long story short. i am in the process of building a new rig and converting my old system into a file server. i did some overclocking and put a big ass heatsink and a 80mm thermaltake fan that is quite loud at full speed(too lazy to look up both, sorry) that kept it nice and fairly cool. now my question is, is it necessary to keep that fan that has a high CFM as i no longer am going to overclock and it wont be doing any intense work? this computer will be used strictly for storage(mp3s, movies, pictures, etc.) and will have approx. 2-3 computers accessing at any given moment.
also, should i move that to blow on the hard drives to keep them cool or is that overkill as well?
thanks.
