CPU Cooler: Choice Based On Blowing Direction?

Hi all. Helping someone put together a system and had a question regarding CPU coolers. I have read that usually a cooler blowing sideways is considered better than one blowing down onto the mobo, but usually only if it is toward the exhaust. The coolers in question are the TT TMG a1, TMG a2, and Big Typhoon VX.

The a1 would be ideal but from pics it looks like it blows toward the PSU  :

Would the a2 be a better option, which blows down onto the mobo? The rest of the system will have just a 120mm exhaust fan, no intake fan.

The other option is the Typhoon VX, but it is much larger, heavier, and the fan has to be controlled by the built-in knob (although the fan can be replaced, would rather run it stock).

What would you guys suggest?

Cheers.

PS. those are the only coolers under consideration and available ATM

BUMP...I've confirmed that the a1 can only mount blowing toward the bottom of the chassis or the PSU, neither of which is desirable. I assume the a2 would be a better option?

Why are those the only available options? Either the Tuniq Tower or an AC Freezer 64 Pro would be better IMO.
