hmm, kind of weird. I had a client up and running fine, then it stopped. Couldn't get it to do anything. Not even configonly. Though that it expired so I downloaded a new mpich smp client, started with install.bat, went fine MPI showed twice, tried to run as configonly in console, and get nothing :( No information in event logs as far as I can see. q9550, 750isli, vista x64 ultimate

there is a new dropin executable. they may not have updated the installer. there is another thread here, but can't easily on my phone.

They really need to tell you that it's expired when the client fires up. I don't see how that would be THAT hard to do. I hadn't run the SMP client in some time and started running it again, I forgot how that when it expires it simply won't run at all. No message, no nothing.

i no longer run the WinSMP client, but I feel the same way. Back when I did run it, when it stopped working I checked here for new exe information.

Thanks. I would have figured that at least the client would have been updated. I know that they expire, that's why I downloaded the client again

The WinSMP client isn't very well-supported, unfortunately. Hopefully that'll change once SMP2 rolls around.
