Hello,

I won a P4 CPU at an Intel seminar :p :D , and its being mailed to me - the description is:

Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz processor 219.00 219.00

How do I know if its has 64 bit support? :)

Regards,

Brian

6xx series has 64 bit extensions and a bunch of the Extreme Editions ones too..but they would probably tell you if you were getting an EE. ;)

How HOT do they run typically? I read somewhere the P4 Extreme 3.73Ghz and/or P4 3.60, P4 3.80 Ghz run VERY hot (65C/150F) idle....is that right?

Well, if that is not a discounted price, then there's two candidates. The 3.2E or the 540J. Neither of those have support for 64 bit. Sorry :(

Thanks, I will be happy with an LGA 775....hoping for the best! It should be here tomorrow, so I will post when its here. :)

Score! On sale for $280 on Newegg.

In response to your other question. Prescotts are hot. No two ways about it.

$219.00 is the Tray Price for 1000 processors. The $241 TP 820 D will have a similar markup. That also means $537 will end up being $600 LOL!

Congrats on the CPU, my 630 runs between 55C idle to 65 under load.
