CPU Choking?

It's amazing what kind of cabbage is being spent on upgrades for Doom3!
Basedon some advice in this forum yesterday, I've purchased an http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-130-202&depa=0 from Newegg.
I've got a P4T-E mboard w/ a 1.7 CPU. Also, 256mb RAMBUS with another 256 on the way.
To what extent will my CPU bottleneck this card? I was going to read up on overclocking cpu this weekend - would that help? I believe the board will handle up to 2.4mhz - is it worth checking prices for new cpu's?
I'm assuming that w/ new vid board and mem, D3 should play reaonably well.
Thanks for any thoughts/suggestions.

your cpu will be a bottleneck, your ram should be okay (notice should)
 
Dude I ran that board, it rocks if you go a full gig in dual channel ......your gonna need it
