Hello,

I currently have a Celeron M CPU on my laptop. Is it possible to upgrade to a Centrino CPU?

Centrino is not a processor, it is called the Pentium M. Yes, you should be able to upgrade to it, just make sure which chipset you have on your laptop. If its the i855 then you can only use 400FSB, if its i915 than you can use any Pentium M.

You should be able to upgrade to any 400FSB Pentium M processor.

No, P4-m isn't what's in the centrino. It's the Pentium M you're looking for... right?
Well, I don't know who told you about a centrino p4...
Oh and you can't upgrade to centrino. Centrino is what makes a laptop thin, power eficent, and other good crap, enless you want to redesign your whole laptop, Just buy a pentium M all the performance of centrino +a tiny bit of weight and a tiny bit less power

You need to find a Pentium M, look for one that is a 90nm (Dothan). Centrino is the name given to the i852GM + Pentium M + 802.11b/g.

If I remember my Intel model number right, you can use any Pentium M 7x0. As long as it has a zero at the end of the model number, that means it is a 400FSB CPU. I would try finding a Pentium M that runs at 1.6+

There is about an ~800mhz performance difference between Pentium M's and Pentium 4's. So a Pentium M at 2.0ghz is somewhere between a Pentium 4 2.8-3.0ghz.

7x5's are 400FSB chips, 7x0 are 533FSB. His options are up to a Pentium M 765 (2.1Ghz). Though he'll pay through the nose for one. A Pentium M 745 might be more reasonable.

edit: What model is your current Celeron M Klo? Are you looking for just more performance and/or more battery life?
