CPU Block Trouble

I'm in a bind about the block for my water cooling setup. I'd been planning to order cathar's new storm cpu block when it went on sale 9/27 since it was supposed to be on par with the revered cascade if not even better. But because of idleness on my part I didn't check the Little River water blocks page frequently enough and missed the preordering which started on 9/20 and ended on 9/22 when the first run was sold out. Because of this I now have to wait for the second batch to go on sale in late october.

This is particularly frustrating for me because I'd emailed him before the 20th asking to be put on a mailing list so that I'd know as soon as the blocks went on sale as I really wanted one. I understand he's a businessman who handles tons of email each day. He admitted that he didn't expect them to sell out in 36 hours and that he's put in a rush on the second batch. It isn't his fault and I want it to be very clear that I'm not blaming him or trying to say anything derogatory.

In the end I still don't have the waterblock I've been waiting for. I've held up building my new rig for this waterblock. Should I just wait it out for the second batch to go on sale, (it might be sooner than the end of october but who knows) or should I go with a different waterblock?

Anyone preorder a storm they could sell me?

Well Cath said not to send pre-order emails at least a dozen times.

Either wait for a Storm block or get something that isn't as good. You're choice, please don't whine.

 I'm not whining, if I was unclear about this at all let me make it absolutely clear that I'm not. It's my fault for not checking the site.

What I was asking was how significant of a performance difference there would be between the theorized performance of a storm block and the other best blocks right now and if that performance difference was worth waiting for.

It seems to me that it is, but that also because the socket 939 motherboard market isn't so great right now and could improve by the time the second batch of the storm blocks are released.

My question was how much of an improvement will I see (speaking hypothetically, since as far as I know nobody has tested one yet) from a Storm block vs. the current favorites like the d-tek white water or the swiftech 6002. A difference that's significant is worth waiting for, a .5 degree difference isn't something I'm going to wait for...

even if you bought a swiftie 6002 for the time being, you'd surely be able to get rid of it in the classified or an online auction site with no probs by the time the next batch of Storm blocks are ready to ship. Even if you couldn't sell it (which is damn unlikely), $42 ain't that much of a hit to the bank account. :D
