Well I think I've finally convinced myself that I can part with my MP-05 SP :( since my budget won't hold a pump stronger than the Hydor L35 (the only ones I can think of are ~$70)...

Now it's time for me to start looking for a decently priced CPU WB...

Here's the current loop (w/o the CPU block):
Hydor L35 Pump
MCW50 GPU block
MCRes-Micro
Double Heater Core (77' Bonneville no A/C)

All this in 3/8" ID tubing...

I'll be cooling a AMD64 3400+ Socket 754 Newcastle (130nm)...

Apparently my pump can't handle the restrictiveness of the MP-05...

Right now I'm leaning towards the Swiftech Apogee or the MCW6002...I'm worried about the qc of the Apogee, has that been fixed? Systemcooling.com's review seems to be fairly confident of it...

Any other recommendations? I would consider a Storm, but according to the charts @ systemcooling, it's not much less restrictive than the MP-05....

qc of the apogee appears to be fixed, but some people still prefer the 6002 since its a sturdier design and much less of a chance of leaking
 
Are there any other blocks anyone would recommend for the system I posted?
 
Of the two, which block do you think would perform better in my system? The Apogee or the MCW6002? IIRC, BillA himself said awhile back that in his system, they perform identically...
 
According to the inaccurate CPU temp diode they may perform identically. They may also allow the same maximum OC. However, the MCW6002 is probably the better block, cheaper too.
 
I can't find a retailer that carries the MCW6002-64...CrazyPC.com seems to be out and since it's a discontinued block, it's probably not coming back....

I actually need 3/8" ID barbs, so I'm actually looking for the MCW6000. And at $42.50 I might as well get a Apogee...

Will my Hydor L35 even be capable of handling the Apogee?
 
you could also look through the for sale for an MCW6000. Just make sure it has the K8 retention bracket. If I had the K8 bracket, instead of the AXP bracket, I'd offer to trade.

yes it would, i think so anyway, i recall reading somewhere that it would take 3 apogees in series to compare to the flow resistance of a single storm.
