Ok,

I have been out of the high performance cooling market for a while. Basically, I need a good, yet fairly inexpensive HSF for my CPU (Athlon 64 X2 3800+) and GPU (ATI Radeon x1950Pro).

I was thinking the OCZ Vendetta for the CPU part, but I can't find one for sale anywhere.........

Do you want to overclock this stuff or make it quieter?

It's hard to recommend something if we don't know your goal! :D

Edit: Also, how about a specific price range for each?

my goal is mostly better cooling, although overclocking the processor would be nice. i am thinking i would like to keep the price at $40 or under for each.

Zalmans are good.

I have a Zalman 7700 and it stays around 30c-40c depending on what i'm doing.

i had a zalman a while ago (all copper, black surround), the thing i didn't like is how often i had to clean the dust out of it.

I've heard good things about the Zalman VF-900 for your video card. -- $33 currently on Newegg

Also, I'm planning on picking up a Tuniq Tower for my recent build -- $45.

That'd put you at about $80 total. If you wanna save some money and don't want crazy overclocks, try the Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 (usually $20 at newegg or ewiz). I've had one on my old 3500+ for a year and it's much quieter than the stock cooler, got much better temps, and even allowed for a small (300MHz) overclock.

see, i don't really think i need a tuniq tower. i doubt i will overclock that much, but i will be bringing my computer to a friend's thats around 60 miles away for some gaming fun. the ocz vendetta sounds like about a perfect fit to me, but i cannot find it anywhere. if i were to get a freezer 64, would it be possible to put a better fan on it? i'm not a big fan of fans that have no shroud around them (no pun intended).
