cpu and cooler cleaning procedure

hey i knwo this has probably been asked before, but i am redoing my zalman cpu cooler and i really want to get it all clean first.. the zalman page says use some alchohol stuff, whats your personal experience??

we are using arctic silver 5....
shoudl we use somethign else for the cpu??? its an amd64 not fx....

Small note - most "rubbing alcohol" has water and fragrance of some type in it (read the label). In a perfect world, you'd want to get some real isopropyl alcohol (IPA). You can get small cans of IPA in the paint sections of bigger home improvement stores like Home Depot, Lowe's, etc....

Rubbing alcohol will certanly work, but if you can get a can of the "real" stuff, it's better......

thats what i ment, i just didnt/ know how to spell it haha, thank you. drug stores have it also
