Coupling Computers

fancy software that divides up the tasks and distributes them... same way multiprocessing works (or at leas that's my understanding of it)... realistically i think most of this kind of software is made for the specific task... i'm not sure if there is anything commercially (affordably) available to do this...

could be wrong though

I have two nice computers with Gigabit Router + Cards, I would love to be able to use both computers when transcoding video or other processor intensive tasks. Anyone have an idea of distributed computing when using video editing software?

Its called distributed computing

^^^ what he said... multi processing is more than one processor in the same box... distributed computing (sometimes called clustering as well) is when you have multiple computers doing the work as one...
