1 can i use the HDD holders in my Lian li v1000 to suspend the HDD? or will i have to go ghetto on it?

2 are there PCIe extation cables?, my mod streams cable will be to short for when i do the switch and i refuse to use teh factory hole in my case for it
 
1) umm. I'm not sure if I understand dude... They're MADE for HD's what would persuade you think they wouldn't work... lol

2) there are... I found one on newegg yesterday, but... because they don't ship to Canada, I didn't save the link. Just don't extend them yourself... I did that, and it made my setup reallly unstable!

yes i know this, they work great atm, they are also awesome for transfering the movement the HDDs make to the case witch rattle the side panels

ive seen people suspend there HDDs with a hair scrunchy type stuff in 5.25 bays, i dont want to do that as i dont want hte extra IDE cable to hide, theres about a quarter of an inch of space on both sides of tthe HDDs in there cage, i jsut wanna know how to do it, with what kind of stuff and if the small space on both sides if it will work or not
 
ok now I get it :). Yeah, you can suspend your drives, although you might need a fan, as the cage helps take away some heat. I just use rubber gromets, that way you don't need to fool around with anything/worry about drives falling. They work well too
 
a fan i have, one of this things i love about this case is the 120mm one that sits les thne an inch away from teh HDDs

hahaha, I love having one of those too ;). I'd recommend against hanging your drives anyways... move your case the wrong way... and (I speak from experience here) they can fall quite easily.
