Hey all,

Appreciate any help on this.

I just started playing cs 1.6 again, but i realize that it is pretty dark...especially in hallway.
Tried every modulations, including monitor and settings but to no avail. I am using HD4850 on a 17inch.

Is there any console commands (non-cheating) that i could optimize the brightness?

thankxx

Usually when I start up CS1.6 the first thing I do is go in the Video options and turn the brightness and gamma all the way up. It usually fixed that problem for me. It never looked too bright or too dark after applying settings.

thanxx...

will try tonight when i get home...

hope it works because i think the darkness apply to quite a few other games too...

OP,

Let me know if you find any servers.... I haven't been able to find anyone populating people other than botted servers. The only server I find worth while is the e[x]treme server, but they are normally a high ping server.

See if there are any brightness/gamma settings under the driver control panel (CCC in your case?).

Tons of servers on my side. I am in Manhattan NY if you want to know.

Tons of servers - usually full in the evening 32/32.

I can look up the IPs for you if you like...

Yeah install Powerstrip. Under color options I think there's a checkbox for Boost "something". It makes the image brighter without losing color saturation. Worked pretty well on my old CRT.
