Alright guys we need 200 folders to add 10kppd to get get us to ~ 5 million ppd if you can add 10k ppd put it in this thread!

I'm adding a 9800gx2 today so

10k ppd = 199 folders needed

well, Ive got an 8800 GT on the way, and 2 more 9600 GSO's to bring online when my new PSU gets here for rig 2, so thats 10k PPD or so, and the P4 will fill the gap if needed

+10k ppd = 198 folders needed

im assuming this is extra points, not what we have now
but if your going by what hardfolding shows for us, ive got another 9k more than that shows already, but it takes so long for PPD to update
but I promise I'll pour as much into this as I can, but I'm already drained of funds lol

FOLD ON!!

and fwiw, yall are WAY more fun than my last team lol

maybe we should switch to PPD, because I'd hate to see half a folder in real life

haha 1/2 folders IRL would be a bit rough huh I think the 200 would be easier then subtracting the ppd out of 2 million but i'm willing to change it if peeps want

I hate thses threads, they make me do things. I just pulled the trigger on a GTX260 so that should be good for 7k, I won't add my number in yet because I'm thinking of adding a 9800GS0 before you all cut me off at the knees.

My 4 GTS 250's are running 22k ppd on 768 point WU's, expect nothing below 20k ppd with them.

Hmm what is this chimp challenge and is it entertaining? I'm equal to about 3.2 folders more when I get the VMware nodes running mwhaha.

A number of team all have a contest to see who can get to a set number of points in the shortest time under a common name (ours is [H]ardApe. Last year it was 5 mil, My guess it will be 15+ or so this year.

better not be 5mil, 3 teams could hit that in under a day now....

It's practically guaranteed that will be jacked up. It's a good thing these huge folders came around weeks before the competition started. Imagine if they began to fold near the start of the CC. It would be over in a blink of an eye with last year's goal, LOL.

Yeah, definitely 15+, more likely 20-25 millions with our current average... the goal is to have about 1-2 weeks of folding to reach the goal.

it'll need to be 50 to get 2 weeks

looking into getting another mobo and a 9800 GX2 (im so broke lol) and switching things around a bit. If I can do all that, I'd be able to add another 15k easy if I can group units with like shaders

I know but don't assume everyone will switch over... A actual estimation is 1/3-1/2 of the active folders switch for the challenge which bring us to 1 million - 1,5 million. Last year, we peaked at about 550k ppd even if the team production is over 1,5 millions ppd.

Very very true. This did cause some angst amongst the folders that did switch over as some were getting mowed over during the challenge :(

The CC is optional and is a great recruiting tool. Not everyone however wants to switch over during the CC. For some, it just isn't possible (inaccessible borgs and what not).

Here is a thought. Are these mega folders going to change all of their clients for 1 or 2 week event?

well, maybe, as they were talking about an image that runs entirely from ram, so there would be no install time because you'd just be copying ready to run clients, so all theyd have to do is shut down the old clients and run temporary new ones. All 3 mega's live 20 miles apart and they met up and talked about their goals and thats wht they mentioned. Kinda cool, and sad, all at the same time

XFX 260 core 216 and two 8800GS cards. That's 3k over the 10k line. So if someone needs a few points they can add mine.

+10k ppd = 196 folders needed

I'm going to get into so much trouble.

been a long time for me, 8800gts (old one) and a core2duo @ 2.4

never used the GPU client before but it seems to take a good amount of CPU power so I only installed a single core for the the other half of the cpu, is this still efficient?

You should only see 1-2% on a NV Card.

Start a thread and We will try and help you.
