Well i got my system together and i want to see what's it's made of.
I'm a first time AMD user, and alot of the settings are different from my old Intel MB. I'll most likely need a but of help with this one. I am kinda hoping someone with similar hardware can help me through this, and let me know what settings they used.
Parts:
Opteron 170 w/ scythe ninja
Asus A8N SLI-Premium
2GB 2x1gb OCZ Platinum
Enermax Liberty 620
i think that's all the stuff that matters at this point.
So i got a Max HTT of 314.
Next i need to find my max CPU speed, which i am doing now.
If i take my board to the max 1.5v and run somewhere near 2.7 my temps get to like 54C under 100% load from 2 instances of prime 95 running small FFTs with each core having affinity set.
Are those temps too high?
I'm using the ASUS probe software, is that good enough?
Should i drop the Vcore and just settle for a lesser OC?
Also should i even be running two instances of p95 here?
The next thing in the guide is to find out how well your memory is. The guide said not to boot into windows and run memtest from a floppy...well i don't have one. Any way i can test otherwise?
Also people have talked alot about dividers...what one should i use here?
thanks
