Could this do SLI

Officially no. The SLI-Zone website might be outdated but it does not look like that PSU is officially SLI certified.

And frankly, that "800W" PSU isn't that good since it only offers 60A on the +12V rail, the same amount of power that the cheaper PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W PSU and Corsair 750TX 750W PSU offer.

So I recommend getting either of those other PSUs instead since their quality is well-known whereas the Xion Supernova 800W PSU is an unknown.

So will just one of whichever one work? Because I'm not buying them at the same time. Whichever on I go with.

i run 9800gx2 quad sli with a mushkin 650 watt psu. if thats a decent 800watt power supply, it will run your cards no problem.

Well just one of either the Corsair 750TX or PC Power& Cooling Silencer 750 is more than enough for your planned SLI system. That Xion does not look like it's gonna be a good quality PSU. So I do not recommend using it.

Well since I'm fourteen, don't have a job, and am out of money from buying this pc, I think I'll keep the psu untill I have the money to buy a new one. But why can't I just run 1 8800 gts on it?

are you buying the xion psu or you already using it on your rig? if you're buying it for that price might as well buy a good quality psu like the corsair 750tx. if you already have it, specs says sli certified.

Damn you, you are a lucky 14 year old. (Same age here, can't get a damn upgrade like that).

Anyway, no, that power supply might be sufficient, but that doesn't mean that we are going to recommend it. It will most likely be inefficient, unstable, and probably will break down pretty damn quickly. The Corsair TX750, Silencer 750, or, if you want modular, the Toughpower 750W Cable Management (damn that is getting frustrating to type) are the power supplies of choice for that kind of power range.

Didn't say that you couldn't run 1 8800GTS on it. You should have clarified that you already bought the PSU.

But yeah, I concur with Lamboman, we're not to recommend it for SLI since 1) No proper review of it has been done, 2) The actual manufacturer of the PSU is unknown and 3) There are well known and well reviewed slightly lower wattage PSUs out there for significantly cheaper that offer the same amount of power. That should already tell you the level of quality in that Supernova 800W PSU.

I bet it would live up to its name if you did run it in SLI.
Rumors are its made by superflower.

oh, I'm sorry I didn't mention that. thought the psu was down in my sig. Well ya this is the psu I chose with when they built my pc. It was about 3 months ago and I hadn't found Hard Forum yet :( so that was just the one I chose because it was cheap and it had high wattage.

I guess I'll just have one 8800 gts on it then when I go to SLI I'll just buy a new psu and give this psu to my mom's computer or just sell it to a friend.

Just did some looking, as I have seen the power supply being used in quite a few other builds before, and yes, it is built by Superflower. It is simply a rebranded part.

Probably not the best way to choose a PSU... a bad one can do some real damage to the other hardware in your system. Try to stick to well-known companies when buying a power supply ( Corsair, PC Power & Cooling, etc.)

ya, I'll do that next time. Like I said before, I hadn't really known of Hard Forum or any other place that would help me out with my build. So I just read about what each thing did and picked one.

check out johnnyguru.com. he reviews tons of psu's and has links to the best reviews on other sites.,

so I have come to the conclusion of just running one 8800 GTS on it and then moving up to s better psu for sli (like one that you recommended). Thx for all the advice!
