as some others.. i was looking for a small case...i settled for a mid-tower...

i have a NV-silencer on my 6800GT and i have a thermaltake venus CPU cooler... will those fit into the case... i do have 2 optical drives but dont mind, using just one. only have 1 harddrive..

i also noticed that the power supplies on the shuttle cases are small... like 240 watts or so.. im thinking that wont cut it. as in most 68GT rigs use at least 400W or more.
 
need more detail to answer.

what model of sff are you looking at, and complete system specs for what you have now.
 
for that sff.
300w psu is more than enough to run a 6800gt.
you will need to mod the side of the case for the nv silencer to fit.
venus12 should be able to fit.
it has 2x5.25 bays, but longer drives wont fit in the top bay.
 
it looks like the agp slot is towards the edge and the pci slot is towards the middle...
 
the only 2 sff's designs i know that have room for a 2 slot cooler are the shuttle P series cases and biostar's. all others have the agp slot on the outside. look through the gallery here to get an idea of whats needed to get the silencer to fit.
 
Do the P chassis work with 2-slot cards or not? Some say you need to mod the drive bay, others say it works just fine :confused:
I'm happy with my single-slot X800XT and G5-chassis for now but just wondering.

Building a high-end system into even a G Shuttle case isn't a problem at all. Only limitation is really the number of expansion slots, videocard cooling, and number of harddrives. Also overclocking will be a bit more dificult but the fastest Athlon64-FX CPU's aren't exactly slow at default either :)
 
judging by the pics here unless the cooler was extremely oversized,ie some kind of passive set up, I cant see any reason to mod anything. Biostar Ideq might need a cage mod since the agp slot is the inner slot and long cards can/would be blocked.
