I have a F@H Dream that one day we will all run 1 client. That client will do a system analysis and ask what components you would like to run F@H on. This would inlcude CPUs, GPUs, HDs and more. After selecting the shell downloads, installs and configures the clients to play nice with each other. I have a F@H Dream...

Someday ViJay will wake up and realize the dream.

He wants to get back to the easy of the standard client, then start building the F@H Shell. I'm very tempted to try WCG due to the combination of ease and web based monitoring.


 
I think I have seen something like this in production, forget where.
 
There was a 3rd party gui installer for windows that aimed to do pretty much that, all point and clicky goodness. I could swear that I linked it in one of the weekend updates, but I can't find the link now. I'll look again later when I get home.

That's an interesting concept brother Sunin. From the answering posts of other team members it looks like you're on your way to having your dream fulfilled. One thing I learned from the "old timers", F@H is always in motion, always changing. Sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad, but always changing. :D

I think it's very doable. Since the way clients interact with cores, it's just a client rewrite to handle various cores to be the most efficient.

 
I for one would like it. I TRULY like the way BOINC is setup. You tell what is your user name and pasword and then magically it configures it for you.
