I recently bought and received a new Cooler Master Cosmos full tower case. I've transfered all the components of my system over into this new case, but I've experienced a problem with the connector on the case's PWR LED cable. The connector for it on my motherboard is a 2-pin, but is the width of a 3-pin (the two pins are seperated by the space of a missing pin in the middle) To be honest I've never paid attention on my old boards, but I'm sure this is the way it's supposed to be. The cable connected to my case however is teh size of a typical 2-pin connector, with no space between the pins. Is there anything I can do to get this cable to connect properly and work? Or am I doing something wrong in the first place? I may be missing something incredibly stupid but it's just something simple and annoying that I would like to get sorted out.
 
My motherboard has a three pin wide power connector as well. I just didn't plug in the power LED. You might be able to cut the power LED plug in half with a razor blade and plug in each half.
 
you may be able to dissasemble the connector - pull the pronged wire out and move it
Given the the three pin wide connector has a middle slot you could install it into.

If it does, it's rather simple, there's a V shaped brace on the prong that click into small openings on the connector - once again, not all have this, but if it does it's moddable

Also, if it does not, you may be able to fiddle in some small object, a needle, etc from the wire side of the connector and at the same time firmly pull on the wire. You should be able to feel around in there, and run into the small retaining v-clips and once you do mess around till you feel it loosen one side, keep tension on the wire, switch to the other side and do the same, it should come out.

Good luck, once again, not all of them will allow you to do this.
 
I have the Cosmos case with the Asus Striker Extreme mobo. I called Asus and asked their tech support what they would recommend as a fix. The reply was to either cut or splice a new connector or to (and gets this one) cut the original plug in half and then plug them in individually. Does that make sense?
Well, I did the latter and it worked fine, my white wire was the ground so make sure you get that right.
 
Alright, that's what I was figuring I would have to do, I just wasn't too keen on having to cut anything. Anyway, after a very long lapse on my part, thank you all for the help.
 
Just cut the plug in half and do it that way. I do it all the time and it doesnt damage anything if your careful. i just use scissors and the trim the plastic with a razor.
