Well.. I decided to try this sick case out.. Got it pretty cheap during Thanksgiving Sales.. Its not a bad case, but DAMN does it get HOT..

I came in today to see my CPU running 51C.. My other case use to run 31C period.. I had a Coolermaster Centurion 5 case..


So.. I've ordered 2 140mm 77CFM Fans for top, 2 120mm 82CFM Fans for the bottom and back.. Anything else I should do besides getting rid of the case.. Maybe port the front with an air intake?
 
I just got done installing my system into this case. Got it for a great deal also. I have to say that my temps are the same but damn is this case silent. I'm loving it so far. Maybe I will try those 140's also.
 
The fans that come with this case don't move much air. I had the same issues but after switching all the fans with Vantec Stealths -and adding a fan over the hd cage- it has been as cool running as the CM Stacker it replaced. Great looking case imo, I couldn't resist the recent rebate:eek:
 
ahh i see thats cool. when will the new cosmos come out and what price? i heard its all alluminium and there is a fan at the side panel
 
I bought one of these things over Thankgiving as well, but I'm having a ton of trouble with cable routing, haven't even gotten to the heat yet. Can somebody give me some pictures of how they did it? It seems that any time I wire anything through the top hole above the motherboard the back plate won't close, and if I have too much in the middle where the big cable management areas are then it doesn't close tightly either. I'm trying to get all my cables behind the motherboard if possible, but it seems like I'm going to have to settle for a less clean look than my last case (NZXT Zero).
 
I didnt take any photo's :( I just finished putting everything back in my Centurion 5 case.. I lost both my Raptors today.. When I hit the drives with IR Probe, temps were 97C... Just put this POS back in the box and filed an RMA with Newegg.. It's a nice case, but it has the worlds worst cooling ability.. My C2D was soaring at 60C+ at load.. My ram was about 74C.. All taken with IR Temp probe..

Now that its all back in the C5 case, its now down at 30C range.. Much much better..
 
I've read reviews of this case saying it has terrible air cooling, Thats 1 of the reasons I didnt get this case, And now I am glad I got my Lian Li case instead.

Nice looking case, Bad cooling.
 
would a coolermaster stacker be a better choice then? but aint that case loud with over 8 120m fans if all occupied?
 
I'll post my setup using the cosmos 1000 soon. I have routed the cables along the back of the motherboard side panel pretty well and it looks very clean. Yet, Liquid cooling might be the best setup for this case, because as I said before, It gets very hot on air cooling, and no I'm not the first to say these things...

My signature has my specs with this case.
 
looks like i should go for the stacker instead. is there gunna be any new exciting cases out next year? seems like the stacker and the p180's have been out for years

Which way do you have the fan over your HDD blowing?
 
Sorry missed this one. I have it blowing up to the top exhaust fans(pulling air from cage)
