Corsair XMS same speed as Valueselect?

I'm not overclocking and I'm wondering if the Corsair Valueselect will run at the same speed as the XMS.

yea, the timings might be different though. Your memory speed is determined by your fsb/htt and your ram divider/frequency (if you haven't changed it, it is 1:1 and exactly the same as your fsb).

So yes, the ram will run as fast as you set your fsb, no matter what kind it is (in most cases. Some older techs force a slower speed.).

what do you mean by speed?
they will both run at the same frequency obviously, yes. PC3200 ValueSelect will run at 200 MHz and PC3200 XMS will run at 200 MHz.
the difference is that the latter should be slightly faster performance-wise, comes has tighter timings, and overclocks better.

well if you arent overclocking why do you care? I cast my vote to the Value. But Might I suggest Crucial value.

I am of the opinion that it will do 2-2-2-5 (about as low as you can go) at stock speeds. Crucial isn't realizing to potential of this stuff, so you get a bargain.

XMS is just value ram that passed their speed bin tests. You don't really need to pay the price for it.

The only things that affect a RAM's performance is it's overall size (Not a factor), timings, and speed (the kind of chips it's made out of influence these two factors). There isn't some magical "XMS" factor that makes it faster at the same timings and speed.

Just get valuea nd buy either more or a better video card/proc.

where did you hear about that crucial doing 2-2-2? eclipse got his to 250 MHz, i've never seen anyone get low timings out of them though.
