Before getting on with the issue I have to say that Corsair has been a very reliable and solid supplier. I wouldn't normally post an issue with an [H] supporting manufacturer yet enough is enough.

Filed for RMA on July 12 and received confirmation of acceptance on the same day. Sent package with failed RAM the same day. Corsair received failed RAM on July 17 (seems rather odd since I am in the same state and sent priority mail). After a few communications with Corsair it is now August 12 and I still haven't received the replacement RAM.

The RAM RMA'd is: TR3X6G1866C7GTF - 2 kits; 12 GB total.

During the phone conversation with the support representative I agreed to a lower CAS timed RAM than what I had since Corsair discontinued the RMA'd RAM some time ago. I asked if Corsair would be willing to give me a speed boost to compensate for the loss of timings. Corsair offered 2000 Mhz RAM at CAS 9 latency, which I accepted. This was, again, on July 12.

After several posts on Corsair's forums, I posted dissatisfaction on Corsair's support ticket comments on August 7. The same day RAM Guy responded assuring me a representative would 'respond in a timely manner'. It has now been five days since Corsair's last communication and I haven't received any response.

In all the years of using Corsair products this is the second time I've RMA'd a Corsair product and only the first time I've been unhappy with their response. The previous RMA with Corsair was flawless and fast. The experience with this RMA, not so much.

Hmm. This seems really odd from them, I've had nothing but flawless service from them with my RMA's, but on the same note, I've only every done Advanced RMA's where I got my replacement part first before shipping out.

Have you given them a call instead of using online communications? They're really helpful on the phone I find. I'd call and just tell them you want an answer and you're willing to wait on the line till there is one. That's what I'd do personally. If they dick you around, call back or ask for someone else / someone above the current person.

I have an RMA open since April and after trying for a few weeks I just gave up. The RMA is still open too lol and no contact messages since april lol.

I have one from a few weeks ago they still haven't responded to, doesn't surprise me that I'm not the only one that hasn't heard anything.

I think every company has these. I used to love corsair and back them 100% but then bs RMA issues like this happen and I need to start reevaluating my trust in them. In fact a lot of companies these days have gone down the crapper in CS, it bothers me more that they were once well received and trusted ones that this started to happen to.

Yeah, that is odd. Every time I've had to rma something with corsair (4 times), they shipped my replacement the following day. Brand new too.

My experiences with Corsair have always been positive (including their phone reps), hopefully you get this sorted out.

After linking to this thread in Corsair's forums I've received a shipping confirmation e-mail. I really disliked going this route but enough was enough. Now all I can hope for is that the RMA they sent me works properly.

I ended up calling them and finally got a hold of a human being, my PSU was missing a few accessories so I just wanted to touch base and see if there was anyway they could send me them. I was told that I'd have to do a full RMA and return the unit just to get them because they dont carry those things in house. I find it somewhat ridiculous they wanted me to send them a $150 PSU to make the situation right, one thing I didn't even mention in the RMA was the fact the the cable sleeving looked like a one handed hobo did it with his eyes closed(no offense to all the one handed hobos out there). I probably would have done the RMA if I didn't live in an apartment complex where I can't even trust my next door neighbor, PSU had a MIR so I didnt wanted to take a hit on the exchange in store.

Not that big of a deal and I'm certainly not sweating it, just a forewarning to anyone considering opening an RMA for missing items.

most troubling from one of the most highly regarded outfits in the industry

hopefully they are just having some temporary personnel trouble

hopefully they are just having some temporary personnel trouble

I ended up speaking with the customer service manager, now how many there are remains to be seen . . . He repeated what his CSR had to say, so it leads me to believe this is more of a management problem. Most successful companies measure their customer service departments said success with things like customer complaints, problem resolution, problem escalation etc. these departments and their employees are graded on these scores and things like operating budgets . . . . when they get to low they make changes(or one would hope they would). You leave it in the managers hands and nothing gets done, its most likely because they believe that you wont talk to the higher ups. Biggest mistake a manager can make is letting a customer go feeling like hes been pushed aside, thats when he/she gets a call from corporate . . . . to many of these calls he/she will find themselves without a job.

OP good luck, although I have a feeling this won't be the last time you talk to them.

I have a module that just went bad. Now I'm not sure if I should even bother submitting a claim.

I just received the replacement RAM. I only RMA'd 12GB of 1866Mhz RAM yet Corsair sent me 2 x 12GB 2000Mhz kits! Much more than I was expecting and more than what Corsair had promised.

Despite the wait, I'm impressed considering this is only the second RMA I've ever - both personally and professionally - had to place with Corsair in the 10 plus years I've been using their products. I hope none of the other Corsair products I use fail within the warranty period. If it does happen I know Corsair will be there to offer support. :)

bumping this thread again because of some corsair love:

i bought a 4gb stick three years ago that went bad a few months ago. didn't give it a thought, just figured it was time and tossed it aside. i thought that corsair had changed their lifetime warranty policy a while ago, but when i looked it up on the site, it said DRAM modules still have lifetime warranties. went through the RMA process just now, and they are replacing it no questions asked!

I used RMA twice due to two failed mice, they treated me good both times! The second mouse was in june, took them a lil bit, but they handled it. A+++

Call the 800# and talk to a customer service rep. They will even cross ship. Always A+++ service that way for me.

I RMA'd with them for my Vengeance 2000 headset and they were super quick and easy to deal with, I called ahead to make sure I shipped the right stuff because the shipping instructions didn't mention which parts they did need, only that I should not ship accessories. I had a brand new headset in my hands in less than a week (I live right near the RMA center).
