Oh, also, the motherboard manual says:

Install at least one DIMM model on the slots. Each DIMM slot supports up to a maximum size of 1GB. Users can install either single- or double-sided modeules to meet their own needs. Users may install memory modeule of different type and density on different channel DDR DIMMs. However, memory modules of the same type and density are required while using dual-channel DDR, or instability may happen.

I see the memory slots are color coded. It's green, purple, green, and purple again.

Here it is:

i would put just the 2x1gb in the system and either sell teh 512s or use them in another system
i might be wrong but maybe teh xms will lose a little performance with the others in there

no harm if you try ;)

let us know how it goes, though i'd run memtest before going into windows to at least be semi-sure about stability :p

No... both of them will run fine. The valueselect is simply rated for a lower latency, but it should be OK. Put the regular corsair in the green slots and then the valueselect in the purple and dual channel should work for both sets. :)

Dual channel will still work with one pair on one channel and the other pair on the other channel? even with different density (per module)?

I purchased a pair of 2x 512 and a pair of 2x 1GB.

On my mobo manual, it says the green slots are "CH A" and purple slots are "CH B"
