Hi All,
I heard someone saying that Corsair's CWT made units are having cap issues. Anyone heard anything about it? Heard it was serious.

You heard "someone" saying? Who is this someone? A shill or begrudged representative for a competing brand maybe?

noobie eh. mmm-hmmm

I hear there are lots of people who create accounts to spread FUD too. I hear that's pretty serious.

Judging by his first post, this guy must be working for seasonic bahaha

I got the information from a distributor of CoolerMaster here in Europe. I was only curious to the validity of the information because he said it was serious. No biggie. As long as my 850 doesn't blow up, all okay for me.

by the tone of some comments, I almost feel bad asking such a question....

Anytime a competitor claims something like this, be skeptical ;)

It's the tone of your question... sounded a lot like you were working for Corsair's competition out to ruin their reputation on purpose.

LMAO at this thread. Coolermaster is selling their own line of PSUs now. That's a huge motive as any for releasing FUD/biased bull down the pipeline.

Jeez some guys are touchy when it comes to questioning some brands. To the OP, corsair has a great reputation, and I along with most here haven't heard of such issues. I even ordered a new corsair PSU friday. Don't read to much into the comments here so far, while there is no known issue it's not the worst question I have ever heard. A lot of guys here clearly have some fanboy issues going on, as your tone read pretty inquisitive to me not a declaration. Then again there is more than a fair amount of people willing to blame any computer issue you might have on a "faulty" or "crap" PSU, so you have now been warned. ;)

Well would you prefer non-rebutted FUD coming from Coolermaster? Or [H] users setting the record straight? It seems if we answer, we're fanboys. If we don't - then what? What would you call that, since you're so quick to call us fanboys.

Seriously what FUD? He asked a pretty simple question, not stating some random fact. He said an unnamed source tried to warn him off of certain corsair PSU's, not the entire line mind you. And the guys is treated like a competing company rep in a borderline defamation case. It's ridicules. It's not the answers that are bad, though the tone flat out sucks. It's the other noise in the signal tossed in that makes you the fanboy's. He was treated like crap cause he dared to question Corsair. The rumor may be off base, but I see little to gain by shitting on the guy for such an innocuous question. I don't care how great the message is, when your so uncivil about it it makes you look bad. Telling someone they heard a bad rumor, vs. telling them they are a Coolermaster shill sent to defame corsair is a bit different. If you don't see the fanboyism in that, what can I say? Some of us would rather remain civil and simply provide an answer, some look for a reason to pile on a guy cause they don't like the question. You tell me who's who.

Lol wow I'm quoting this so you don't delete it later. This is borderline flame, thanks dude.

Borderline flame? Good grief, feel free to report it. Excellent retort to the facts at hand by the way....dude. You sure taught me a lesson.

Ever been a forum moderator on a board like this? This would not have been the first time I've seen someone with a low post count come in and post something like this who later turned out to be working for the competition. The OP just set off those warning bells - that's all.

And I didn't see an issue with your response. To the point, and all issues dealt with. As for the moderator, never been one. Luckily for some on this board I am not.

As a Corsair rep, I know my word will be taken with a grain of salt here, but we don't see any significant difference in RMA rates between our CWT units and our Seasonic units.

Specifically we don't see cap failure as the main failure point in any of our units.
