Hi guys I'm looking to add memory to my computer and i could not find the exact model for it. First of all, i have a Corsair CMX512-3200LL 2-3-2-6. I've checked Newegg and some other online stores and all they have is a CMX512RE-3200LL. I'm not quite sure if i can use the same one. All i know is RE are designed for Athlon 64 FX motherboard and that's what i have, but i'm not sure if it will work with my Mobo (if i can then i would like to know). Plus i'd be more comfortable using the same memory that i already have. If you have the same memory that i have, let me know where i can purchase it or what alternative i can use thats cheaper but have a good quality.
 
The CMX512RE-3200LL is for the FX CPUs, yes, but only for the old FX-51 which required registered ECC RAM. Your FX-53 likely uses regular DDR. Which online stores have you been looking at? Sounds like the store you've been checking out doesn't have much selection.

The FX-53 was built in socket 940 as well. So he could need registered ram.

EDIT: Nevermind I looked at the OP sig. He's got an A8V which is socket 939.
 
what revision is it, 1.2, 2.2 or 3.1?

1.2 + 2.2 = winbond CH-5 (the older stuff, doesn't seem to act like UTT CH)
3.1 = Infineon B-5 (ewwwwwwwww! :eek: )

I checked all of those since those are the sites that are recommended in the Corsair Site, but for some reason i can't find this particualar model.

Update* I've found it on pricegrabber (and that's it from the links) and it gave me atacom.com ($154.95) and caplink technology (204.00 :eek: ) Are those the only site?

it's version 1.2

What if i use the RE version? WIll it mess up the performance?
 
ok, an update, I called Corsair and they have discontinued this model. THey are now using 3200-XL which is better and faster. They are now gonna RMA my current memory and replace it with the new one. Just a head up if you own this type of memory.
