So I built a new pc with the define r4 case, asus maximus v formula mb, 3770K i7, and the corsair h60.
Here is a picture of how the radiator and block are mounted. http://imgur.com/yZhYiFO
I'm running stock speed.
At first the mounting bracket was loose on the motherboard, but I read that should be okay. It was tight when I tightened the block to cpu. Well Idle temp was around 30 C, but 100% load was 105 C.
I remounted, changed thermal paste, even added washers to the back plate to make it so the screws connecting it the motherboard were no longer loose. This helped some, it lowered the full load temp to upper 90s.
I have the pump plugged into a case fan plug, it runs at 4700 rpms all the time according to cpuid hw monitor and the AI Suite. The radiator fan is plugged into the cpu fan plug (diff in picture i took before i moved to correct spot). It runs between 1100 and 2000 when on full load.
Every time I have remounted it the paste is spread out evenly and looks like it should be okay. I'm ready to return this to microcenter tomorrow and just get a fan unless someone has some ideas for me to try.
