Corsair H50 leaking, help needed

Was running some stuff in Excel hit compute and machine just shut off and wouldn't turn back on. I did notice that the fan on the heatsink wasn't spinning then noticed the stuff below. I've only been running this thing a couple months(was on clearance at Best Buy in HotDeals). Its not water, nor is it thermal paste.

So I don't know what to do at this moment. The vid card had visible liquid on it that leaked into the PCI-E slot as you can see. I do have other cpu coolers, should I even try it? I've did some google stuff and see that Corsair does help people out with this.

call corsair on Monday and get someone on the phone to help you, I would direct them to the pictures you have linked and ask for a new cooler and if they can assist in replacing your other parts.
 
Ya corsair should honor this warranty AND fix your system, although it might take a lot longer than you would like.
 
oh man... I am so sad to see those pics... I hope that corsiar will replace your gear..cause that is some bullsh*t right there.

The good thing about Corsair:

They will replace all of your parts for you. A similar situation happened in the past to another member here, and they replaced all of his affected parts at their expense. Contact Redbeard on this forum if you run into any issues, he'll take care of you.

What kind of liquid is used inside the Hydro Series CPU coolers?

The liquid inside our Hydro Series CPU coolers is a mixture of distilled water with Propylene Glycol added to prevent corrosion and organic build-up.

I'd be mad as hell my self. Have em replace everything that water touched.


Opinion Time: WTF Corsair. Water is 5 years ago..... Use a pre-mix non water based, non-corrosive, non-conductive coolant. I buy mine at a premium OMG kinda price of $11.00 sigh...

Distilled water is non conductive.
 
Alright, first of all thanks for all the help!

I replaced the H50(obviously) and I put an older heatsink I had on it and moved my Vid card down a slot(to the x8 pci-e slot) and everything is running ok for now.

I'm still going to call them and get my H50 replaced even though I probably won't use it. I am still worried about that x16 slot on my mobo. I don't want to risk sticking my vid card back in it and destroying that and the mobo.

From other threads and google it seems like Corsair will replace stuff that is broken pending that I send it in and they verify. Thing is that would leave me without my rig for who knows how long. I have spare parts except for the mobo, so I'll have to figure something out on that front.

LOL, looks like snot.

I don't have a good way of cleaning out the inside of the slot. I'll probably let it dry for a couple days.
 
The mobo is ruined. Stained at the very min, on the road for for serious damage atbthe worst. The video card should be able to be cleaned up, same with other peripherals, but the mobo and h50 need to be replaced at bare min.
 
I've heard from my friend the other day about this one guy who posted about his h70 and it leaking and jacked his system. He called Corsair, plus went crazy with posted apparently lol, they sent him an h80, ssd, and a $400 check to compensate his loses. Pretty crazy, but they are suppose to cover everything under warranty. Let us know what happens when you give them a call i'm really curious, good luck!
