My current system has remained mostly unchanged and untouched since I built it in January 2008. I'm running an Intel stock cooler on a Q9550 ES that I have never overclocked. I've worked in the IT industry for 15 years and just haven't been in the mood to mess around with my personal gaming PC the last few years. I like the fact that what I have now has been very low maintenance. It just works.

I'm considering a Corsair H-80 for my Ivy Bridge build for a couple reasons....

1. I plan to throw my hat in the overclocking ring for the first time since the Athlon XP reigned. Nothing crazy, just a modest overlock and the Corsairs perform well.
2. They look nice. Tidy. Clean.

Here's the thing though. I'd like to be able to build this thing and not have to worry about it or mess with it for the life of the PC...probably three years. What's the track record for these coolers? Is there anyway to know that it will still perform as well in 2015 as it does right out of the box?

Thanks!
E

The pumps on these will last quite a few years (5 years) They are good coolers for moderate overclocking. Its a good way to start overclocking on water on a budget.
