I heard all good things about Corsair PSUs. I wanted to get the 620HX but I can't really justify spending $150 on it, where I can get this one for $90.

I'm wondering though, will this 550W PSU handle the following:
- Intel Quad Core Q6600
- Evga 8800GTS 640 (Single Card)
- 2 GB DDR2 RAM
- 320 GB Seagate HDD

I don't plan on running SLI, but I might add one extra HDD in the future. As for overclocking, I might overclock the CPU/Video a bit, but nothing hardcore. Will the Corsair 550W Vx handle those? Or shall I spend more on a different PSU?

For a single GTS card, I'd say you're fine.

The big thing you'll be missing with the HX620W is the fact that it's modular. Obviously that's not a priority for you.

It'll be fine. My Silverstone Element 500W handles my x1950 + Q6600 @ 3.6GHz + 2x500GB harddrives stress-testing without even spinning up the fan.

basically what everyone else said.

your system is VERY similar to mine, with the exception of you using an intel proc while I'm using an AMD. But everything else is spot on and I'm doing just fine. I have the Corsair 550W btw.
