Corsair 520HX problems with Microfly.

This Christmas I wasn't looking for a complete overhaul of my system so I decided to just upgrade a couple parts along with a new look case wise. My PSU was starting to sound really bad under full load so I did some research and decided that the Corsair 520HX was the PSU for me.

I also decided to go the SFF route and choose a Microfly for my case, mainly for it's ability to house larger PSU's. I also went with a Zalman 7700 to cool my CPU.

Going into the build my main concern was the size of the 7700. As it turns out the Corsair does not fit. Initially it was to long and interfered with one of the spots where the top panel of the case hooks into the side. I made a little cut there to allow it fit length wise and I thought everything was OK. But to my surprise it is also to wide for the side panel to fit properly.

I guess my main question is, has anyone else tried this case/PSU combo with success or does anyone have a solution that would enable me to put the side panel on. Thanks in advance.

I'm not aware of any problems with PSU's being too 'wide' for a case, thats really odd. Initially what I had thought of was the length issue, but you seemed to have solved that (early MF's had that stupid tab there).

Maybe steve has some input?

Well actually mine had the tab as well. I kind of cut it in half and made room length wise. That wasn't really a problem. i just used some needle-nosed pliers and a file to fix that problem.

When I say it is too wide, I mean just barely. Like maybe a couple millimeters at most. It is just enough to cause the the side panel to bulge which in turn makes the top panel not fit correctly. It's kind of aggravating to tell the truth.

I was going to mesh that side window anyway so I made a couple more cuts while I was at work that may solve the problem. I will post back with my results and maybe a couple of pics if I can find my wife's camera.
