I'm working on spec'ing a build for my roommate. I have chosen the 450VX to power the system and I want to make sure that it is going to have enough juice for his system.

Linky To System

I would think it would be. But I just want to make sure. I'm basically running the same system on a 520HX but his budget really doesn't allow for it. Its to bad we missed the 620HX deal last week.

Any input is appreciated on any part of the build.

that PSU should be able to handle that build fine. I do have a question though why the 27" LCD TV? Won't it be rather limited to a somewhat low resolution for a screen that size?

I might also recommend the 8800 GTS 640MB version. The recent Dx10 performance numbers suggest this extra RAM offers greatly improved performance.

For his needs the 320mb version will be fine. His main game is poker but he does enjoy the occasional shooter and he doesn't want to have to upgrade in year to be able to play the new games.

On the screen its what he wanted. on a 27 720P isn't that bad. But like I said main uses at music videos and the occasional game.

Thanks for the thoughts on the PSU too. I figured it would have no prob but I'm a little sketchy on the power part of all this yet. I just don't him to end up like me wishing he would of gotten a bigger PSU
