So I needed to use my 750Quad from my gaming machine for a server I am working on, so I was looking for a replacement. I came across a really good deal on a 400 watt power supply, and decided to give it a shot.



As you can see, after 8 hours of prime, the voltages are pretty solid on this power supply. I ran the same full load test, while also running full load on the 9800 GTX via Real-time HDR IBL, and the voltages didn't budge.

I am fairly impressed to be running a 3.3GHz q6600 and 9800 GTX fully loaded on a 400 watt power supply!
 
I'm not at all surprised. Too many people over-exaggerate/estimate the power usage of modern systems. With a 3.2 Q6600, HD4850, 5 hard drives, 3 optical drives and 8GB of ram, I have absolutely no issues running on a 485watt Enermax.

I will need to spec my future systems more accordingly i suppose.

According to your screen shot the 5V rail is out of ATX spec, so I wouldn't consider those software voltage readings solid or accurate. Please test the rails with a DMM and report back with your results.

Just for Ss and giggles I’d really like the PSU temp if you can manage that. Somehow Id think you might be right on the edge there as well, as in 45c plus.

I don’t suggest an Oral or Rectal thermometer for taking its temp. However for future information do you know how to tell the difference between the two?

All kidding aside though those CPU temps are life shortening hot. My quad 6600 runs 24/7 on DC projects (see DC thread) and on a warm day I run in the mid 50s, I use a dual fan TRUE for everything and I love it.
