I have a .mpg file that's on my external drive which is semi-corrupt, this particular can be played fine, however it can not be moved or copied.

as I am upgrade my external hard, I really need to move this file or copy it, when I try to do so I get

"can't read from the source file or disk."

how can I fix this?

Thanks.

Try cloning the corrupt drive to a good drive, then running a disk repair utility on the good hard drive.
