Recently my motherboard failed due to some kind of corrosion on the back. Im using a second generation Prometian phase cooler module, with built in heater on the back of the mobo. The corrosion happened within the hermetic cell, on the back, right where the heating unit is. Visualy it looked green and white, kinda gunky.
Does anyone have any ideas what might have caused it? At first I thought that it might have been due to the cold, since for the last 3 or 4 months ive been running it relativly slow at 3.8 GHz, so the head temperature has been around -40c (cpu temp reading -5c). But then I was thinking the heating element might have been the problem since the CPU was totaly fine.
Has anyone ever had or heard of people having these kind of problems with phasecoolers? Any ideas on how I could prevent this kind of problem?
Thanx for any help in advance.....
