Please let me know what you think of this whole idea.
Thanks,
Marty

4:47 pm cst took shop offline
5:27 pm cst shop back online

So in the end, I can't beat BRH's output by myself. It's getting closer, and mine are 24/7. I think Cornell has upped the bandwidth which helps me out a ton (my T-1 line is just maxed out at the shop for download). And come Monday I'm not sure what I'll do, sucks working off a slow internet pipe being clogged by all this crap.

I dunno, make of it what you will. Guess in the end it's just a guy screwing around.

All the guy did was posting asking for help. He also posted if he won he would buy a laptop for his schoolwork. He didnt promise you anything or anyone else and he didnt force you to help him. Now since you contributed to his efforts you want something in return even as going as far as switching teams (blackmailing).

Stop harrassing the guy with emails.

Stop harrassing the guy with emails.

1. I just asked him if he was interested in donating to the next CPU contest. He said no, that's cool.

2. I flat out put up 25% of his current total points. No kidding, I put alot of his points on the board, black mailing someone when you've put up a ton of his own points is not very logical.

3. I sent him a PM, he replied- I replied. Simply as that- done deal. Let me know if you want the PM's, all three of them.

4. Check the thread- I was the first person to post/start folding under his name.

5. I wanted to know what my output was for kicks, no harm no foul. He was already way out in front.

Yea, I like to give folks (and get back...) a hard time/razz them. Just goofing around, period. Blackmail- no. Gave him a lot of crap- yea.

For the record, I have never emailed him once.

Marty

Hey,
I was hoping to use the money toward a laptop for school...if I gave the money away I wouldn't be able to get one. Somebody would have another processor for folding, but there would also be one less that I would buy, so it would even out. Do you get what I mean?

Hey,

I was just thinking some of the money for the contest. The contest drives in many new folders, so 1 cpu folding vs. all the contest would bring in was my thinking.

Never an email, 3 PM's total.

Whoa, just saw this thread today...

I have nothing against donating to the next giveaway, but I don't want to promise anything now because I don't know when that is going to be or how fluid I'm going to be. I just don't want to commit to anything and end up going back on it because I'm short and have to buy books or something.

School has to come first, and as much as I'd like to be able to entice new folders to the horde, I can't afford to a lot of the time. :(

3 PMs is hardly pestering. He just wanted to know if it was a one-way support deal. Turns out it was. Marty and the rest of us are free to chose whether to continue to help him or to stop.

No big deal.
