Running Vista. When I open the program, it says "driver failed to load." CoreTemp then correctly IDs my chip and frequency but under the temps it says "100C (?)" It's version BETA .94. I couldn't find any other version.

I have Vista 32bit and using speedfan no prob... might wanna try that....

right click the icon for core temp and then run it as "run as administrator.", hopefully that helps...

Selecting "Run as Admin" seems to work. I guess I'm just not used to Vista yet...
Thanks for the help.

SpeedFan v.4.32 should report the exact same temps as CoreTemp and SpeedFan has been tested on Vista.

I've got a Q6600 and I'm trying speed fan because coretemp isn't working for some reason. It is showing me a "Cpu" temp and then a temp for "core0," "core1," etc. Which one(s) do I look at. The "cpu" one is showing like 34 degrees C and the cores reading somewhere around 20 19 16 17. Are those temps right? I'm using water cooling by the way and the Q6600 is stock at the moment.

under vista x64 coretemp will not run without disabling driver signing enforcement, which after you apply the performance and reliability pack is only a temporary thing. Speedfan's core temps are 15c cooler than they should be with quad cores. the 100c is the tjunction
