Whats the top performer of amd cores, is it still clawhammer for the 64s?

It's all about steppings now.

It's the Venus Opterons though (relabeled SanDiego cores), Or Toledo dual cores, but liek I said, stepping is what matters.

I havent been in the scene for a while, im still on an iwill xp333, Remember those? lol

for maximum mhz, it works well

for best possible throughput in a multithreaded scenario, toledo is better (basically a dual core san diego)

what about the opterons though? i mean those are re labled sandiego's yup but why get an FX55? the opterons are the same thing w/ a different name and the 148 venus cores get 3.0Ghz on air.

Since we are talking about cores and steppings anyways, I was wondering how good the stepping on my opty 146 is. It is 0605GPMW... With all the talk about good cores being 0608 or 0610 (on dual-cores at least), does my core suck? Or is it good for single core...

It's pretty easy to hit 3.0 on these Opterons. Mine does 2.9 on only 1.45v. I'm sure it will be stable at 3.0 with 1.55v.
