From what I understand reading about this, the line of AS5 you put on spreads out right over where the cores are, which I guess is all that's important. Seems a bit odd to me, but since I just got a new HSF in, I may have to try this to see if it works as well as they say. If not, I'll just take the HSF off and go back to spreading a thin layer over the entire heatspreader as I've normally done...
BTW, I did lower my VCORE as some here have suggested and I got a nice reduction in temps. I was hitting 71C at load @ 2.4Ghz with stock VCORE, but lowering it to 2.275V lowered my temps to 63C at load. Still seems to be running stable with that setting as well. Once I get my new SI-128 installed, we'll see how big a difference that will make to my temps.
