Hi, want to build a new rig, preferably i7..

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
upto $1200 Canadian + Tax/shipping

3) Where do you live?
Edmonton, Canada

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Please be very specific.
I will need a Mobo, Ram, CPU.

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.

Power Supply - Corsair HX 1000W
Sound Card 1 - Creative X-Fi Champion
Sound Card 2 - Asus Xonar Essence STX
Video Card - evga GTX 275
Tuner - Hauppauge 1800
Hdd's - Seagate 500gb/1.5tb
dvd / case / keyboard / mouse i have.

6) Will you be overclocking?

Yes

7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?

Samsung 24" / 20"

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?

Within the next two months

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.

Sli Possibly at a later date,
Atleast 2x PCIe X1 or X8 slots

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license?

Couldn't find a motherboard with 2 PCI-E x1 slots, but you can use x1 devices in x4, x8, and x16 slots.

The RAM is very good. It runs 8-8-8-24 @ 1.65v and shouldn't be much different from the OCZ/Patriot/Corsair equivalents. AFAIK, it uses Samsung DRAM chips.

I'm using this motherboard and am very satisfied. The reason I suggested the P6T was so you can save money. There aren't many significant advantages, and most X58 boards (in this price range) are quite similar. The major differences are brand preferences and BIOSes. That being said, I like my Gigabyte and it has better northbridge cooling relative to some of the less expensive X58 boards.

After much reviewing and research, I chose the Gigabyte EX58-UD5 over the ASUS P6T Deluxe. You can read the reviews and decide, but they're pretty much on par at most times.
