Good god, my new Core 2 is just ripping through those horrendous p2124/2125 proteins, sometimes as low as 27mins per frame when I'm doing the usual web browsing/email bit. They can go even faster when the machine is sitting unattended.

I'm getting ready to assemble my mom a computer, it'll be running either two CPU consoles or one CPU and GPU, depending on how I build it out for her. More production for the [H]orde!

Holy crap I totally agree. I've got my 6600 running at 3.1 right now and I've got two of these melt proteins. Not sure which ones exactly right now, but its running at about 26mins and change. That's a solid 10 mins faster than the old opty 170 at 2.63 could do. And it absolutely tears through those 364point bonus gromacs, it got like 5-6mins a frame!

I borged my little bro's brand new C2Duo E6300 (@ 2.10GHz) and he has doubled the production that my home rig (A64 3700+ @ 2255) and my work PC (P4 2.5GHz, no-OC) were cranking out with just one core!
