Copying security settings

I have a member server in the domain, where my data resides. I am planning to buy a new server to replace the current one. What is the best method to transfer all the user security settings from my old server to my new server, including data, access control and file permissions?
 
buy the new server, add is at a member server to your domain. Then back up the old server and restore it to the new one. Your client info should be handled by active directory, and the security settings by the GPO . All you should need to copy is the files and permissions.

course I do not know how you have your network set up :) I just assume it's this way heh
 
There are a lot of possible methods and tools. You can use tools like xcopy or robocopy but I am not sure if they can properly operate with shares (I think you have them on your server). Another suggestion is to use Secure Copy from Scriptlogic. This tool can check if the folder is shared and recreate this share on the destination server.

I've done my job with the last suggested utility - secure copy. Everything was completed successfully and I hope to use this tool in future tasks.
