A gallium compound similiar to mercury manufactured by a German company. Other than the fact that it will melt any aluminum it comes in contact with it looks like a pretty promising product. Not many reviews in English of it though but I did manage to find these:

He was unable to get a good spread, but it still performed similiar to the other standard high quality pastes.

Here is Dex's review and as he got it to spread better it supposedly gave him a 10-11C drop in temperature from 37 to 26.

Makes aluminum look like the Wicked Witch of the West after Dorothy douses her with water...

Anyone have any personal experience with this product?

Search will get you a few threads where the general consensus says "no"

The benefits vs the costs just dont make this product worth it... yet.

What costs? Just avoid being a jackass and getting it all over the place... If the second review is right and it caused a 10C+ drop in temperature @ idle...

1. It corrodes aluminum rapidly
2. It can phsyically "weld" your processor to your Heatsink over time...

Hmm. That 2nd link does look promising. Although I'm certain I can find the reason that this stuff performs so much better than AS5. Simply because it can be spread in a very thin coat.

As 5 is way too viscous to easily spread it over the large surface of the IHS with the recommended thickness of 0.001". This stuff, as a liquid, can.

The Zalman STG1 paste can be spread into an equally thick layer using the brush. As a bonus the Zalman stuff is non conductive, non capacitive (course this stuff wouldnt even have TIME to be capactive) and also improved my temps over Cured AS5.

Most of these tests show that the liquid pro is on average 5-6 degrees better than AS5... A FRESH installation of AS5. Even my As5 installation experienced a 2'c drop in temperatures over the 300hr burn in time. So, that 6'c difference turns to 4'c. The Stg1 is 2'c better than my Cured AS5... so the difference between the 2 is most likely 1-2'c.

Now, that 2nd link, where the OP posted a reduction of 7'c in temperatures proves that as with anything, there are significant diminishing returns. When you already have a really warm situation, any sort of upgrade will help. As your system gets cooler and cooler, the more you put into it, the less you're gonna get.

I have bought some and cant wait to try it and it was quite cheap , well not as cheap as the other stuff and you only get half a gramm , you only need about a tength of that any one go so it doesnt look that bad.

Also I have grown a little fetish for these thermal compounds and I have about 7 different kinds now., weird ,Huh?

Umm..yes it is. Thermal compound ranks slightly above floppy drives on the excitement meter. :p

Which ones? It'd be nice to see a comparison of all them and AS5, ASC, and all the other major TIMs out there...

The thing thats doing it is the idle hands , I have had the core 2 duo E6600 for a month today and its making me buy things to perfect it.

Bought a case I didnt need , bought a lapping kit a didnt need and bought three different compounds I didnt need.

I bought the scythe INFINiTY and on that the base came nice mirrored like finish and what I did was used my lapping kit on it , guess what happened it has a un mirrored look now.Lol

I also lapped the base of the cpu and guess what the base has actually copper underneath the aluminuim finish.

The sooner it comes the better, the mobo i mean or i am going to end up buying more shit and doing mad experiments.

Even made silly jokes about the temps of my CPU and the HSF and that it both runs at idle and load at no change , why ?cos its still in the box.

Lord have mercy and put the 590 on the shelves tommorrow, or else more silly collections and more silly experiments.

I will let you know how i got on with it , dont you worry.

Did some lapping and its copper underneath
