I just purchased this CPU from ZZF: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Quad-Core Processor 2.4GHz, 1066FSB,LGA775, 8MB cache.

I'm looking for a fan/heatsink that will keep it ice cold, and not be too noisy. I don't plan on doing any OC.

Here are a couple I was checking out:

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro
Thermalright Ultra-90 (Does this one require a fan?)

Thanks

The Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 pro had good reviews on newegg, though I have personally not tried it. Have you read [H]'s Mega Heatsink review? That may give you some ideas towards a fan/heatsink:

Is the Freezer 7 the same as the Freezer 64 Pro? Cuz if it is, mine does "ok" - and that's only dealing with a single core. While it's certainly quiet (mine's @ 78% fan speed), the performance isn't really awe-inspiring.

get ultima 90 + 92mm fan if your worried about weight + height of HS.

Read the hardocp HSF megareview. Based on it, I only considered the TRUE or Tuniq Tower, the latter of which was around $10+ cheaper and came with a fan. I'm very happy with my results (detailed in sig).
