Why is it that with only two antec rear exhaust fans. My pc cpu, and motherboard seem to run cooler than when I added one or two additional intake fans. My pc in link.

i'm guessing positive vs. negative internal case pressure.

negaitve = results in kind of a vaccuum that sucks in cool air...

as opposed to a positive pressured case that could result in relatively stagnant air in the case (if not exhausted at a high enough rate)

With two exhausts Antec's 34CFM Tricool high Setting @ 2600 RPM , and one intake 26CFM @ 2000 RPM = cpu 35 degrees, motherboard, 35 degrees, evga 6800GT 55 degrees idle. With only two exhausts Antec's 34CFM Tricool high Setting @ 2600 RPM = cpu 34 degrees, motherboard 34 degees, evga 6800GT 55 degrees idle.

Do internal LED blue lights produce much heat?. My Antec illuminate a nic eblue glow on the back wall at night. Would like to somehow illumine the front grill area.

What do you think I could use to illuminate the grill area if I don't need to use intake fans.

i wonder if your wire managment is restricting air flow?

if you are getting better temps without from fans go for it. Just make sure your hard drives have enough cooling.

if you just want some light get a cathod kit.

Do you think these temps are to high?. I am using the ribbon cables that came with the motherboard. Should I switch cables. What size would I need to get. Got two hard drives, A DVD and CD Rom along with Floppy.

temps seem about right, it's just neat cables are better for airflow. You don't even need to buy anything, just keep them tight, and out of the way.
the rate my cables thread is useful

i just think it's odd that your temps are higher with more fans. Seems to be a pressure issue, but you never know...if you feel like fooling around a bit, try different combos. maybe one exhaust, and two intakes, or one and one...see what get;s you the best temps.

lol nice, i have the same dell crt which i use for my secondary screen :p

This monitor has worked for me since around 1998. This is a perfect example of the quality of Dell monitors. Dell P990. Still going strong.

Room temp about 21C
IDLE = 32C
LOAD = 43C once i overclocked to 2.8 i was hitting 50C

i just bought a bunch of new stuff...hopefully my new watercooling will drop all my temps.

the original question asks why

- it's negative vs. pos. pressure.

but here's a coupla suggestions on how to further cool without changing the clean look of your rig.

- blowhole
which further enhances negative pressure plus gets rid of any hot air that accumulates at top of case (heat rises)
- wire management (enhance flow)
- intake or just hole on bottom of case

here's something else. Try a new case (unless you're attached to that one).

- If you're into full towers and only take up two optical drives, buy a mid or full size tower w/ five 5.25" bays. Use the top two for your optical drives then use the remainding 3 to put in a 120mm HD cooler and use that as an intake that points directly towards your CPU cooler.

I've been doing that and even in this heat I've had pretty respectable temp #'s. (Zalman CNPS9500).

Now in nice airconditioned room with two exhausts Antec's 34CFM Tricool high Setting @ 2600 RPM , and two Thermaltake intake 26CFM @ 2000 RPM = cpu 33 degrees, motherboard, 28 degrees, evga 6800GT 53 degrees idle. I relocated Floppy cable to allow more intake air to get to motherboard and video card. Better!

nice.

yea - it's amazing what cable management can do to the performance of a pc.
I remember cable managing for the first time a while ago and thinking what a pain it was - until I saw the numbers.

that's why I can't stand seeing people's setups that look like someone sneezed spaghetti.
