Cooling Mod, Higher Temps?

I took a 80MM case fan I had sitting around and attached it directly above the fan on a NV Silencer 5. Logically by forcing more air into the Silencer it should move more air through the unit and help bring down temps. Now the temps are actually higher, why exactly is that?
 
Doesnt make sense to me, unless you accidentaly mounted the fan blowing in the wrong direction....
 
I didn't I double checked before I mounted it.
