i dont want to mess with water, or anything super fancy

something that has been bugging me since i built my computer is the placement/direction of fans...i have 6 fans in my computer right now, and no its not loud at all...i was just wondering which direction they should all blow

right now its 2 in the front blowing into the computer, 2 in the back blowing out of the computer, 1 on top blowing out of the computer, and 1 on the side blowing out of the computer

as i understand it, misusing fans can "trap" heat and make the system hotter, i was wondering if i placed them correctly, and if not, how should i change them

well, as heat risies, you want the one on the top blowing out.

the front/back setup you have is good.


I'd suggest turning the side one around to suck into the computer... it's probably around the HSF on your CPU, which sucks air down onto the heatsink, so if you have the side fan blowing out, it might create a wierd vaccum...
 
Generally, in order to keep the case cool you want "negative" air pressure. That means there are more exhaust fans than intake fans. If there are too many intake fans, the air just builds up and holds heat in. More exhaust fans keeps a steady airflow up by creating negative pressure inside you case, which whisks fresh air through faster, thus keeping the system cooler.

Exhaust fans should be at the top/rear, while intake fans should be at the front/side. And don't forget to count the PSU fan as an exhaust fan.
