Alright, i have a i5-6600K and ASUS Z170-AR LGA Socket 1151 and im trying to figure out what would be the best to cool the CPU? been debating on that CPU corsair liquid kit but im paranoid of leaks, other wise i was trying to find a good fan cooler, just not sure which would be best.. so many choices out there.

the case all this is going in is the Thermaltake chaser MK 1,

anyone can throw me some tips that be great, i do like LEDs but im more concern is a long life for the system.

Also, i know this may be the wrong area to ask, but i would like to shoot for 16 gigs of DDR4 ram, any pointers on which brand to go for? was thinking Corsair Vengeance

Dont worry about leaks just check the unit well before installing and be very careful not to put tension on the tubes. Leaks happen because of shipping or human error during install.

It will fail in 3 - 5 years, get noisy work less efficiently or just have pump failure.

Any large Noctua cooler will work fine or thermalright true or a slew of others.

If you do not plan to overclock you can just go with the CM Hyper 212 EVO

Just make sure what you pick is under 180mm which should be easy

On RAM I would choose Gskill Tridentzs

Good luck

I had the same paranoia about leaks, but the AIO units have really got to a point where it's not much of an issue anymore. Corsair backs it's products with an amazing 5-year warranty, and they will even replace components damaged by leaks on a case by case basis (They can afford to do this because it basically never happens). Really the biggest advantage of the AIO water kits over traditional air is where you can put the radiator. With a traditional air cooler like the CM Hyper 212 obviously your "radiator" is stuck suspended right over the CPU which is somewhat less than ideal and can cause memory clearance issues. There is nothing wrong with traditional air cooling though. I'm using a CM Hyper 212+ with my 2500k @ 5Ghz, 1.48v, which probably puts out at least as much heat as an overclocked 6600K, and it works great.

My 6600k @ stock (havn't bothered OC yet) on ASUS Z170-A with the Cooler Master Nepton 140XL (front mounted single pull) hits about 44c with Intel burn in. Idles around 20c.

Unfortunately the fans that came with it SUCK so I am using my Fractal fans that came with my Define S.

I have a H105 (extra thick rad) on my 4790K and it idles at 28c ... hits at most 48-50c while gaming. Very happy with it.

i also have a corsair h100i (old model) cooling a 3930K. Its sitting at 29c with ambient roughly 26c. Ive never seen it past 70c during peak summer days with ambient at 26.7c. i vaguely remember running prime95 on it and it reached a maximum of 60c.

regardless, i would vouch from previous posts about AIO leaking a non-issue. just do a dry test if youre that paranoid. plus, in my experience, corsair has one of the best customer service/RMA processes in the US. ive done both RAM and PSU.

Thank you guys, think ill give the Corsair Hydro Series H110i GTX Cooling a try, plus it has a LED lol
Now to figure out a Power source.. i kinda like the thermltake but i honestly dont know that much about PSU

I have the OG H100 and has been running almost non-stop at max setting since 2011 and have had zero problems with it. Temps are the same from the first day i bought it and the noise hasn't gotten any louder (which i never really hear it anyway) and my computer stays on almost 24/7. So no worries about quality.
